Our Comprehensive Prostate Clinic
We've developed a prostate evaluation process, the only one of its kind in private healthcare, that includes 5 key tests to best evaluate the health of your prostate. These are standard-of-care tests that would be utilised within the NHS, however, rather than requiring up to 10 appointments and weeks of waiting for results and your next appointment, we're delivering this all in one day.
The tests include an mpMRI scan which offers better soft tissue contrast than ultrasound, allowing for clearer visualisation of the prostate and surrounding tissues, which is crucial for differentiating between normal and cancerous tissue.
You'll also speak directly with Consultant Urologist Mr. Gokul Kanda Swamy who will review your results and provide guidance on any next steps on the same day.

prostate cancer - most common cancer in uk men
Prostate cancer is a significant health concern for men worldwide. In the UK, it's the most common cancer in men, with over 50,000 new cases diagnosed annually. Sadly, more than 12,000 men in the UK die from this disease each year. Approximately 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime, and this risk is even higher for Black men, where it's about 1 in 4. The incidence rate increases with age, with most cases occurring in men over 50.

While the incidence is high, survival rates have improved significantly over recent times, likely due to earlier detection through testing and advancements in treatment. Currently, about 8 in 10 men diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK survive for ten years or more. However, the prognosis varies greatly depending on the stage of diagnosis. For localised prostate cancer, the 5-year survival rate is nearly 100%, but this drops significantly once the cancer has spread to distant parts of the body. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men in the UK.

The 5 Tests explained
Urine Flow study - A urine flow test, also known as uroflowmetry, measures the rate and amount of urine passed during urination to assess the function of the lower urinary tract and identify potential issues like blockages or weak bladder muscles.
A PSA (prostate-specific antigen) test is a blood test that measures the amount of PSA, a protein produced by the prostate gland, in your blood and is often used to screen for prostate cancer or monitor its progression. It's normally present in small amounts in the blood, but higher levels can indicate prostate problems, including cancer.
Bladder scan, also known as a bladder ultrasound, is a non-invasive procedure that uses sound waves to visualize the bladder and measure the amount of urine remaining after urination, helping to assess bladder function and identify potential issues like urinary retention.
Urine midstream sample (MSU) is a urine test where you collect the middle portion of the urine stream, which helps reduce contamination from the urethra and surrounding areas, ensuring a more accurate diagnosis of a urinary tract infection (UTI).
Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) is a specialized type of MRI scan that uses multiple imaging techniques to produce a more detailed and comprehensive picture of the prostate gland, often used to aid in the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer.
